Located on the eastern outskirts of Basseterre, St. Kitts, the small village of Conaree is renowned for its fishing traditions, local agriculture, and lush tropical rainforest climate. This promising project, led by our dedicated Project Director, Connor Greaux-Taylor, addresses the pressing environmental challenges posed by sargassum blooms.
Deeply connected to his homeland and the Conaree fishing community, Connor collaborates closely with local fishermen, aiding their efforts to overcome the ecological strain caused by invasive seaweed.

By collecting and upcycling sargassum biomass from coastal beaches, Connor’s work not only mitigates environmental threats but also promotes resilience and sustainability for the island’s communities. This impactful initiative caught the attention of Sustainable Travel International, earning a feature in their documentary St. Kitts: A Mission for the Future. Watch it here.
